In France, they drink coffee on every corner, in every cafe and every bar. It is a tradition, an obligation. It is a ritual. A day is not a day without a cup of coffee. Not the watery Americano but the true espresso, "le petit cafe", thick and tasty. Relaxed, they sit back at tables leaning on their chair's back and enjoy. They take their time. They drink it slowly.
And they are right, of course. You need to dissolve in coffee to let coffee dissolve in you.
